1. Introduction

PrompterGo is an independent iOS teleprompter app. This Privacy Policy describes the data processed by the application, how it is used and the rights you hold. Our core commitment: your scripts belong to you, stay on your device and never transit through our own servers.

2. Data we process

To function, PrompterGo accesses the following on your device, all under your exclusive control:

• Scripts and folders — the text and formatting of your scripts are stored locally on your device via SwiftData (Apple database).
• Microphone — used in real time for voice-driven scrolling; no audio recording is retained by the app.
• Camera — used for recording mode (front camera) and OCR document scanning (rear camera).
• iCloud — if enabled in your iOS settings, your scripts sync across your devices via CloudKit (Apple).
• Share links — a shared script's content is encoded directly in the Universal Link URL, without going through our servers.

3. What we do not collect

PrompterGo has no proprietary servers for your personal data. We do not collect or transmit:

• No user accounts or personal identifiers.
• No analytics, telemetry or crash reports sent to our servers.
• No advertising or third-party ad SDKs.
• No tracking cookies on this website or in the app.

4. Local storage and iCloud

Your scripts are stored locally on your device using SwiftData. If you have enabled iCloud for PrompterGo in your iPhone settings, your scripts automatically sync across your devices via CloudKit. This synchronisation is entirely managed by Apple and subject to Apple's own Privacy Policy (apple.com/privacy). You can disable sync at any time in Settings > [Your Name] > iCloud > PrompterGo.

5. Microphone and speech recognition

PrompterGo uses the microphone and Apple's speech recognition framework (SFSpeechRecognizer) to automatically scroll your scripts in sync with your speech. Depending on your iOS version and settings, processing may occur entirely on-device or via Apple's servers. PrompterGo retains no audio recordings and never transmits audio data to its own servers. Apple may process your voice data in accordance with its own Privacy Policy.

6. Camera

The front camera is used in recording mode to display your image as an overlay on the teleprompter, allowing you to see yourself while reading. The rear camera is used to scan physical documents and extract text via OCR, processed locally on-device. No video stream is transmitted or stored by PrompterGo.

7. Script sharing

When you share a script, its content is encoded in a Universal Link (URL). This link can be sent through any channel (Messages, Mail, AirDrop…). The recipient opens the link in PrompterGo to import the script. No data is transmitted to our servers during sharing: the content is entirely contained within the link itself. By sharing a script, you assume responsibility for its content and distribution.

8. Remote control

The remote control feature uses MultipeerConnectivity, Apple's peer-to-peer local network framework (Wi-Fi or Bluetooth). The connection is direct between your two devices and does not go through the internet. No data is sent to external servers when using the remote control.

9. Retention and deletion

Your scripts are stored on your device for as long as the app is installed. You can delete a script at any time within the app; deletion is immediate and, if iCloud is enabled, propagates to all your synced devices. To delete all your data, uninstall PrompterGo from your iPhone or iPad.

10. Your rights (GDPR / CCPA)

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and applicable local laws, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, port, object to and restrict the processing of your personal data. Within PrompterGo, all your personal data is stored locally on your device or in your personal iCloud account — you are the sole owner and controller. 11. Children

PrompterGo is not directed at children under 4 and does not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has used the app inappropriately, please contact us.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The date of the last update is shown at the top of this page. Your continued use of PrompterGo after any change constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
